It is always worth considering a Toro snow blower.

TORO is one of the most well-known and reputable brands in the industry, and the company’s snow clearing products often set the standard by which similar products are judged.

The TORO Power Max 826 OXE El two stage snow thrower can make winter snow removal easy. This particular model is designed to clear large amounts of snow from sizeable driveways, making it an outstanding choice for those who have become exhausted from using an inadequate machine.

Features at a glance

List

  • 250cc Briggs and Stratton OHV four-cycle engine
  • 26 inch clearing width
  • 14 inch plus clearing depth
  • Up to 45 feet discharge distance
  • Capacity to discharge up to 1,900 lbs (864 kg) per minute
  • Friction Disc transmission
  • Electric start

What Can this Toro snow blower do?

This machine is a heavy-duty workhorse that is engineered to take on some of the biggest drifts and the most hardly packed snow.

Its two stage design and proprietary Power Max Anti Clogging System ensure that users can efficiently spend time at its controls removing snow, rather than stopping to clear clogs. This system regulates the amount of snow which can enter the auger system so that the machine operates at maximum efficiency.

TORO’s excellent engineering practices have yielded a machine that can throw snow up to 45 feet. This makes clearing larger spaces easy. The unit’s chute system is very efficiently designed and well-built. The chute is made from a very high-grade polyethylene which ingeniously prevents sticking and clogging of snow and ice.

What is even more attractive is the fact that the chute can be easily adjusted from the cockpit area by using TORO’s amazing Quick Stick chute control. This joy-stick type control allows operators to position the chute in any direction and angle with one simple motion.

Is It Easy To Use?

Because two stage snow throwers are sometimes known for being heavy and difficult to operate, TORO has engineered this model for maximum ease of use, while still retaining a thick, heavy-duty chassis and powerful engine.

This unit comes standard with trigger controlled power steering. The wheels can be individually disengaged making tight turns and easy reversing possible without undue strain on the user.

The engine features electric start which makes firing up the machine easy on even the coldest days, together with a recoil mitten-grip as a fallback option.

Adjusting the machine’s discharge chute is easy thanks to TORO’s Quick Stick mechanism, and snow buildup is virtually impossible within the impeller and chute, meaning that operators can spend more time removing snow than cleaning clogs.

Additionally, this Toro snow blower is self-propelled and it comes standard with a powerful floodlight.

What Safety Features Does It Have?

Because so many snow thrower related injuries occur every winter, TORO has designed this model to be incredibly safe to operate.

Since the unit effectively prevents clogs, users can rest assured that they will never have to put themselves in danger by trying to remove built-up snow and ice.

The machine also features a mechanism which automatically shuts off the engine in the event that the user has removed his or her hands from the controls, whilst the 15″ x 5″ (38 x 12.7 cm) tires provide for stability and good grip.

Is this Toro snow blower worth buying?

For many people, snow removal can be a real chore, but with this particular model, clearing snow can actually be a satisfying and relatively stress-free endeavor.

TORO has obviously put a lot of thought into engineering this machine with its many features designed to make operation easier and more safe. It is built to last, and it has received high praise from users who have reviewed it online and elsewhere.

TORO provides an overall 3 year limited warranty with a lifetime limited warranty on chute, deflector and anti-clogging system.

Optional extras available include a snow cab, tire chains, drift braker and weight kit. You”l probably need the weight kit to aid stability if you add the snow cab.

Although the price, at around $1300.00, might be prohibitive to some, the TORO Power Max 826 OXE El will prove its worth year after year to those who have purchased one.

Do the snow blowers come with power cord???

Hi Jules,
I think with most blowers you need to to buy the power cord to link your machine up to your power supply for electric starting. Length of cord will depend on where you outlet is.
You probably don’t need a cord rated for very low temperatures if you are just using it for starting but it may be best.

Here is a standard outdoor cord: Coleman Cable 02408 14/3 SJTW Vinyl Outdoor Extension Cord, Red, 50-Foot

Here is a low temp one : Coleman Cable 02467 14/3 SJTW Low-Temp Outdoor Extension Cord with Lighted End, 25-Foot
